3rd grade

3rd graders have Latin every day for 20 minutes each day. They read Latin sentences and learn Latin vocabulary and grammar. It’s tough! They read about a real Roman family who lived on a military fort at Vindolanda in Britain around 100CE.  Through them we read about culture and history.

3rd graders learn about: subject and direct object nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, conjunctions, prepositions, and many vocabulary words. They start learning how Latin word endings can change words, There are also many word endings that they need to memorize (usually by chanting!).
